this make me wonder. If I can't call the police for help in a
situation like this who can I call?
- The iPhone is not a UMPC, sorry. - I'm not sure it's even a smartphone, but it sure is shiny!
- The Tao of Steve Best opening line ever: 'The column you're reading right now was typed on an Apple PowerBook? G4 whose fan is only slightly quieter than a Formula One racing car and which crashes in an equally spectacular yet horrifying manner. My previous Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) laptop began falling apart week one, when a flimsy plastic key on the flimsy plastic keyboard abandoned its tenuous hold and took a suicidal leap onto the nether regions of its owner's desk. Other keys, perhaps despairing of their own mediocrity, eventually followed suit.'
- The first day at Microsoft: a fender-bender - a classic story that I think has been repeated at every NEO.
- You're very own Google File System - now I just need a couple hundred linux boxes...
- Adobe Hides Customer Information - giggle
- Pimp My Code, Part 14: Be Inflexible!
- Why do I love squeak? Because of things like Seaside and the amazing capabilities you get. Like this: Build a Wiki in Squeak in 98 lines.
- YouTube on the 8525
- Halo 3 racks up $170M in first day wow in contrast the latest Harry Potter grossed $44M in it's first day. I think that includes the 1.7M pre-ordered copies.
- My favorite RSS reader? GreatNews! Awsome experience, and it runs on a flash drive! Did I mention it's free? Bloglines integration, subscribe to comment feeds, search, watchlists, labels... Awsome tool.
- Reminder to self: Check this out.

News(?)
- CNN.com readers show their love for 'Halo 3' - great game, but check out the quotes...
- "Halo is not just a game, it's a lifestyle, a booming culture of millions of Xbox fans who eat, sleep and live Halo." -- and have real lives?
- "The third installment gamers will wait in line for hours; even bleed to finally finish the fight..." -- well, um, no actually I won't
- Any my personal favorite: "Halo can be compared to Harry Potter" -- with guns.
- Judge rules part of Patriot Act unconstitutional - U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken ruled that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, as amended by the Patriot Act, "now permits the executive branch of government to conduct surveillance and searches of American citizens without satisfying the probable cause requirements of the Fourth Amendment."
- Man finds human leg in smoker - 'A man who bought a smoker Tuesday at an auction ... opened up the smoker and saw what he thought was a piece of driftwood wrapped in paper. When he unwrapped it, he found a human leg..." but it gets better! Investigators tracked down where the Smoker came from and: 'The mother, Peg Steele, explained her son had his leg amputated after a plane crash and kept the leg following the surgery “for religious reasons” she doesn’t know much about.' - the church of taxidermy? - 'Steele said her son, John Wood, plans to drive to Maiden, about 35 miles northwest of Charlotte, to reclaim his amputated leg' - and what, barbecue it?
- Bill O'Reilly says he's being smeared - not sure how I should respond... 'So?' or 'Again?' how about 'Wolf!'
- Court: New mom must get extra test time - "A Harvard student must be allowed extra break time during her nine-hour medical licensing exam so she can pump breast milk to feed her 4-month-old daughter, a Massachusetts appeals court judge ruled Wednesday." - facebook promptly banned her
- Gaia guru urges ocean pipes to fix Earth's climate - "In a letter to the journal Nature, he proposes vertical pipes 100 to 200 meters long and 10 meters wide be placed in the sea, so that wave motion pumps up water and fertilizes algae on the surface. This algal bloom would push down carbon dioxide levels and also produce dimethyl sulphide, helping to seed sunlight-reflecting clouds." - we could attach a spigot and keep the world at a nice 72 degrees all year long!

I guess you could try the simpler XSD Object Code Generator too... but it won't make WSDL.

Bill Buxton gave a presentation the other day on 'Whereable Computing' where he talks about human computer interaction and computer design. Absolutely brilliant man. I hope to capture some of his insights in the days to come in the dev section of this site... But what I wanted to share now was his web site:
